Baby can I hold you (fingerstyle guitar)
TAB AVAILABLE READ ON...while snooping through Naudos back catalouge, I decided to take on a couple of transcriptions that weren't specifically a favourite song of mine, but were something easy to play and sounds good to add to my fingerstyle repertoire. I noticed this one, Tracy Chapmans classic from the 80's, and it seemed pretty straight forward. It was - took me 4 hours to have it pretty much tabbed and learnt.
So if you were interested in trying out a simplified Naudo styled tune, this is it! I mostly left out his signature bah-dum-dum bassline in favour of the treble D/Dsus2 strum , which for me fits nicely with the song and is easier to play ;)
Now some of you who have been following my work will have noticed that I'm playing on my new guitar! Yah, it finally arrived - thanks to Tony Agnello at Soundcentre Morley, and to Brendan from Yamaha Australia - without whom I doubt if it would have been shipped from Japan/China at all.
For those who _haven't_ been following, this is a Yamaha CGX171CCA nylon stringer, more suited to flamenco style than classical - and thus suited to my particular flavour of fingerstyle. It comes equipped with a piezo pickup and an additional inbody condensor microphone which can be mixed on the guitar. I think this can give a very "real" sound to the guitar when plugged in. On the mechanical side the guitar has a truss rod which means that fiddling with neck+nut+saddles to get "the perfect action" becomes fairly straight forward for this tinkerer...
This will be my main work axe from now on, since realising that deep down I am a nylon man. I've got a few more tunes I've been saving up for when it arrives, so keep an eye on your subscriptions...for those who are subscribers that is ;)
I didn't go to my usual effort for the tab this time, just a basic skeleton of the tune. Listen, and play it your own way :)
